Today I attended my cousin's wedding at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. After the ceremony, we ate lunch in a ballroom where the bride, Joanne tossed her bouquet. Feeling bored and up for an adventure, I decided to participate in the bouquet toss. Around me, were twenty to thirty-something year old women. Joanne threw her gorgeous rose/peony bouquet over her shoulder for the eager single women, myself included. As the bouquet flew through the air, I realized that I was witnessing a projectile first-handedly. Joanne's toss provided the force needed to make the bouquet airborne. Gravity was the only force in effect after she left go of it. The y-position of the bouquet increased in a parabolic motion. The force of gravity affected only the y-velocity of the bouquet. The x-position of the projectile increased at a steady rate throughout its journey through the air. The bouquet finally came down into the crowd and I reached up and caught the bouquet! I think my Physics analysis during the toss aided me in catching the bouquet. EVERYONE'S INVITED TO MY WEDDING!
