This picture was taken on a boat
in New York. We are going to see the Statute of Liberty, which is located right above my head. When this boat got moving, it had tons of momentum because it was so gigantic. Since the boat had such a great mass, its momentum was large because P=mv. Although the boat moved at a cruising pace, its large mass gave it momentum. In comparison to a car moving at a very high velocity, the boat we rode on would have a large momentum since its mass is so much greater than that of a car.
