Since the boat had such a great mass, its momentum was large because P=mv. Although the boat moved at a cruising pace, its large mass gave it momentum. In comparison to a car moving at a very high velocity, the boat we rode on would have a large momentum since its mass is so much greater than that of a car.

i love new york! i've never actually gone to the statue of liberty because its old and cracking so its usually closed when i'm there. is this your family?
